Chris Epperly was a punter and kicker for the Emory & Henry Wasps football team from 1997 to 2000. During his four years on campus, the Wasps accumulated a record of 32-9 on the gridiron.

Epperly made an impact in his first game as a starter for the Wasps, kicking the game-winning field goal against No. 8 Washington & Jefferson. He was a member of three Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship winning teams, including the 1998 squad that registered an undefeated record of 10-0 and the 2000 team that made a trip to the NCAA Division III Playoffs. Chris was named to the 1998 All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference Second Team as a kicker.

Chris made Emory & Henry football history during the 1999 season by becoming the first and only player in Wasps program history to be named to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference First Team as both a kicker and a punter. He was named Division III National Punter of the Week for his performance in a win against NCAA Division I-AA opponent Davidson College. His accomplishments on the field earned him a spot on the 1999 NCAA Division III All-American Honorable Mention Special Teams squad. He was also selected to the 1999 VaSID All-State First team as a punter and All-State Second Team as a kicker.
