Danny Large

Class of 1971 / Inducted 1994 / Football

Daniel L. “Danny” Large was a standout athlete on the football field for the Wasps. He was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in 1994.

Large played offensive lineman from 1967-70 under legendary coach Casto Ramsey. He blocked for fellow Hall of Fame members Sonny Wade, Larry Bales, and Wayne Neese.

Large was a four-year starter and helped the team to 7-3 and 9-1 records his first two years. He was an integral part of the 1968 offense which accumulated 38 points per game, 277 yards rushing per game, 277 yards passing per game, and 554 yards of total offense per game.

Large is a member of the American Association of Railroad Superintendents, and a member of the Kiwanis Club and United Way.
