Marshall Doss

Class of 2007 / Inducted 2022 / Football

Marshall Doss graduated from Emory & Henry in 2007 as a four-year letterman of the Wasps football team. 

Doss led the defense from the linebacker position and compiled a special 2006 campaign that saw him lead the team in tackles with 90. He also registered eight tackles-for-loss, two interceptions, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. 

Marshall received conference recognition as he was named to the 2006 All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference First-Team, as well as being named the 2006 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Doss also received national plaudits, as he was selected as an NCAA Division III All-American Honorable Mention.

Since graduating from E&H, Marshall has held coaching positions at several different schools and levels of competition. He started his coaching career as the Defensive Line Coach at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. from 2007-2008. Doss then took a position on the coaching staff at Brevard College from 2008-2011 as the Linebackers Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the Tornados, before returning home to his alma mater as the Linebackers Coach, Academic Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach for the Wasps from 2011-2016. 

Doss was the Defensive Coordinator for ODAC member Ferrum College for five years from 2016-2021 until making a transition to the high school ranks in 2021, where he is currently Defensive Coordinator for the football team and Head Basketball Coach for Grayson County High School in Independence, Va.
