Danielle Moore Sullivan

Class of 2004 / Inducted 2026 / Women's Basketball

Danielle Moore Sullivan established herself as one of the premier guards in Emory & Henry women’s basketball history during her career. A dynamic scorer, playmaker, and leader, she remains among the program’s all-time greats and has continued to make a significant impact on the game of basketball through a highly successful coaching career.

Her name remains prominently featured throughout the Emory & Henry Women’s Basketball Record Book. She ranks second in program history with 166 career three-point field goals made and fifth in single-season history with 61 three-pointers during the 2002–03 campaign. Her defensive prowess was equally impressive, as her eight steals against Ferrum on December 12, 2002 still ranks third in program history for steals in a single game.

Her finest collegiate season came in 2002–03 when she earned First Team All-ODAC honors at guard, recognizing her as one of the conference’s elite players. That season, Moore emerged as the leader of an Emory & Henry team that exceeded expectations following the graduation of one of the program’s most celebrated players. Alongside fellow seniors Dawn Chewning and Erin Connelly, she helped guide the Wasps into contention for the top seed in the ODAC Tournament, with the regular-season conference championship on the line entering the final game of the season.

Moore Sullivan’s impact extended far beyond statistics. According to Hall of Fame Head Coach Joy Scruggs, her fierce competitive nature and determination set her apart from the moment she arrived on campus. Through demanding practices and constant challenges, she developed into a floor leader who was calling plays and directing the team by her senior season. During the 2002–03 campaign, she led Emory & Henry in scoring in 12 of the team’s 26 games while averaging a team-best 12.9 points per game and three assists per contest. She also led the team in three-point attempts, three-point field goals made, and three-point percentage, while averaging a team-high 32.7 minutes per game.

Following her graduation, Moore Sullivan transitioned seamlessly into coaching, where she has built an exceptional record of success. She currently serves as head girls basketball coach at Grace Christian School, where she recently guided her team to the NCISAA 3A State Championship. Prior to that achievement, she led Panther Creek High School to the NCHSAA 4A State Championship. Along the way, she surpassed 200 career coaching victories, a testament to her sustained excellence, leadership, and commitment to developing student-athletes.

As an All-Conference performer, record-setting player, championship coach, and respected leader in the sport, Danielle Moore Sullivan has demonstrated excellence at every stage of her basketball journey.
