Robert D. “Bob” Tucker

Robert D. “Bob” Tucker, a center, was a three-year letterman on the Emory & Henry football squad in the early 1960s. Following an undefeated 1962 season, he was named an All-State honorable mention. The following year he was a co-captain and earned Virginia All-Small College Second Team honors. Tucker was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in 1989.

Apart from athletics, Tucker was an economics major, a member of Phi Gamma Phi social fraternity, and a senior class representative to the student government.  He graduated from E&H in 1964.

Tucker went on to a career in human resources at General Electric and later at Lockheed Martin. He retired as Vice President of Human Resources for the Ocean Radar and Sensor Systems division of Lockheed Martin.

His civic engagements have included serving on the board of directors for his local United Way chapter and as vice chairman of the administrative board at his church. He has also served on the Emory & Henry Board of Visitors and is a faithful supporter of the I-HEY fund, which helps to financially support E&H athletic programs.
