Bill G. Bennett
Bill G. Bennett a four-year letterwinner on the Emory & Henry men’s basketball team, was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in its charter year, 1972.
Bennett has the distinction of earning Smoky Mountain Athletic Conference honors all four years and was named Most Valuable Player of the SMAC tournament in 1955. His senior year, Bennett was named a Methodist College All-American, and at the time of his graduation, he held the E&H record for total career points.
After graduating from E&H, Bennett played semi-professional basketball on teams in Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
