David White
David R. White, a native of Tazewell, Virginia, was a three-year starter at tight end on the Wasps football team. He was a member of the 1968 team that set a nation record of more than 553 offensive yards per game on average. During his career, White had 51 receptions for 711 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. His accomplishments were honored with his induction into the Emory & Henry Sports Hall of Fame in 1999.
In addition to playing football, White was also a member of student government, the student judiciary committee, and Phi Gamma Phi social fraternity while at Emory & Henry.
White went on to run his own company, serving as president and CEO of White Tire Incorporated.
