Micheal Hughes
Micheal Hughes played on the offensive line from 1996-1999, a period in which the Wasps went 32-8 and won three ODAC titles. The Wasps had the best rushing offense in the ODAC in 1997 and 1998 when Hughes helped to open up huge holes for running backs like Oliver Jordan, who still holds numerous E&H and ODAC rushing and scoring records. In 1998, E&H was undefeated with a 10-0 record.
Hughes was named First-Team All-ODAC in 1997, 1998, and 1999 and was also a three-time All-State honoree. He was a two-time All-American honoree, earning this distinction in both 1998 and 1999.
Hughes, inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2016, graduated from E&H in 2001 with a degree in history. He works as an investigator with the U.S. Department of Labor-Mine Safety and Health Administration and is working on a Master’s degree at Marshall University. Hughes also coaches little league football in his community.
